We bought a clock radio recently. From the manual :

This unit has a special feature. When you connect to AC power supply, the button light will be switch on. and when disconnect the power, the button light will switch off.

The unit has lit buttons, and they are actually claiming that it is a “special feature” that these lights go off when the power goes off and on then the power goes on ! They must be hard pressed to find anything good to say about the design.

The worst part is that the button lights are so bright at night time, they light up the room and you need to put something on top of the clock so you don’t feel like you are sleeping with the lights on !
